A Bit About Greyhounds And Lurchers
Greyhounds are graceful, gentle, loving, lazy and patient creatures that crave human affection, probably due to their isolated upbringing.
Lurchers are greyhound crosses with many of the greyhound characteristics, but often with more stamina. They are often bred for their speed as hunting dogs (rabbits and hares).
Once you have owned or even met a greyhound/ lurcher you will be hooked. Why do they need new homes?
Thousands of greyhounds each year are abandoned or disposed of because they are no longer winning races or have proved not to be of a racing standard.
Greyhounds and lurchers are frequently found in dog pounds/ homes where they can be hard to rehome as they are mistakenly thought of as difficult pets.
Are they difficult pets?
No - they are brilliant and rewarding. Greyhounds do not need a lot of exercise - two 20 minute walks a day is often enough. They are often quite lazy dogs, famous for their ability to sleep for most of the day.

We have recently celebrated our first birthday at The Boarding Kennels and would like to thank all of our clients and their pets for making our first year not only successful but also so enjoyable. We have advertised in local vets, local papers and even on the local radio but it is your kind words to friends and family that has proven to generate levels of business that far exceeded our estimations and for that we cannot thank you enough.
We are now looking forward to year two and hope to see all of our existing clients returning with their pets and many new ones too.
In year two we are aiming to provide a variety of dried pet foods at very competitive prices and other doggie related goods, so should you have specific requirements please feel free to let us know and we will do our best to include them in the range. If we do not stock a feed that you require please ask as we may be able to order it.
We now have in stock Profleece vet bedding that can be cut to size, which is offered at a very competitive price. This is the same as the bedding we provide in the kennels and we believe to be the best available from the numerous products we have sampled. Please contact us for more information.
